SPECIAL COLLECTION
This series, produced during a period of confinement, has its roots in a material state of affairs: having to make do with what we have. And not liking to let things go to waste, recycling having been suspended during this period, the artist Christine Barone drew a good part of the necessary raw material from what should have been recycled.
But there is also behind the use of materials - which are both part of our daily lives and harmful to our environment - the desire to go beyond and question ourselves. Recycle, divert, re-create from what exists without ignoring it by burying it in a corner to try to forget it, transcend it and who knows, create another world?
This work frees itself from the constraint of the canvas which served as a support for the entire series. Between wall sculpture and painting, it is sufficient in itself and rises against all odds.
