Appeasement

The care given in the diptych “the 3 crescendo wounds” needed to be expressed again. In a more comforting way, this work responds to the need to be covered with an ointment to soothe our wounds and which could both hide us from the outside world or become a shell. The ashtray and the smoking cigarette evoke the presence of the creator of this scene - or the painting - and project us into his place.
