“Nus” series
Through this series, Christine Barone depicts female bodies
that dominant norms tend to render invisible.
Drawn freehand, in a direct and uncluttered style, they powerfully assert their presence.
The absence of faces and hands focuses attention on the body itself, while certain elements of constraint underscore the tensions between freedom, social gaze, and confinement.
Between gentleness and resistance, this series reminds us that femininity is never confined to a single form: it overflows, varies, and exists fully in its diversity.
